	BTTB-X-Series: Painè Painè Cuadrelli, geboren 1976 in Mailand, ist einer der aktivsten DJs und Produzenten in Italien's Underground Szene. 1995 startete er zusammen mit DJ Lele Sacchie das Projekt Compl8 (sprich: "Complotto"), das den beiden neben zahlreichen Auftritten in ganz Italien und einem Resident Club im Mailänder Tunnel auch eine Radioshow auf Radio Rai 2 ermöglichte. 1997 unterschrieb er einen Vertrag mit dem ebenfalls in Mailand beheimateten Label Temposphere, wo er 1999 das Debut-Album "Simplemente Asi" herausbrachte. Drei Jahre vor dem Gotan Project verschmolzen auf diesem Album elektronische Clubmusik und Tango, wofür vor allem der Titeltrack ein sehr schönes Beispiel ist. Seit dem Album arbeitet Painè mit dem VJ-Kollektiv Sun Wu-Kung (heute auch als Grain bekannt) zusammen - gemeinsam machen Audio-visuelle Live-Sets und komponieren Soundtracks für Kurzfilme. Und ebenfalls seit 1999 arbeitet Painè zusammen mit DJ Fonx und Dj Herrera an einem Turntable-Projekt mit dem schönen Namen I Maniaci Dei Dischi (Plattennarr / Record Maniac) - von der ersten EP liefen in den letzten Wochen einige Stücke bei BTTB. Nun hat er bereits im März sein zweites Album "Spontaneous" veröffentlicht und heute gibt's bei BTTB einen Mix von Painè. Mi, 16.04.2003    22-23 Uhr   OKH	BTTB - Back To The Basics Heute präsentiert der Vinylizer drei Mixtapes: Zwei von DJ Format, der in Southampton aufgewachsen ist und seit 1997 in Brighton lebt. 1997 war er neben Beyond There der einzige englische DJ, der auf der Compilation "Return Of The DJ 2" zu hören war. Inzwischen hat er mit "Music For The Mature B-Boy" ein eigenes Album rausgebracht und mit der Debut-Maxi "Ill Culinary Behaviour" einen Underground Hit gelandet. Die beiden Mixtapes, aus denen ihr heute je einen 15-minütigen Teil hören könnt, heißen "Average White Bloke" und "Jumping On the Mixtape Bandwagon". Der dritte Mix kommt aus Hamburg, und zwar stammt er vom Hidden Tape Label, das in der Schanze behaimatet ist. Das erste Tape dieses Labels lief hier bereits als X-Session - damals mixte Bubbles unzählige Soul-Stücke, die im HipHop gesamplet wurden. Auf dem zweiten Tape "Kidnapped Rappers" geht es etwas anders zu: Bekannte Rapper rappen zu teilweise nicht so bekannten Instrumentals - jedenfalls nicht zu den gewohnten Instrumentals. Aus diesem Tape hört ihr heute ebenfalls einen Teil. Fr, 18.04.2003    ab 23 Uhr   Party	Party: Back To The Basics presents Inchspektor Drop-Out Nachdem Back To The Basics in den vergangenen sechs Monaten internationale DJs aus England und USA ins Echochamber eingeladen hat, ist nun ein lokaler DJ aus Hamburg dran. Inchspektor Drop-Out ist seit 1994 die eine Hälfte der Radio Scorpyo Crew, die mit ihren abstrusen Mixen im FSK und im Offenen Kanal den Äther unsicher macht. Das ganze ist extrem vielseitig und teilweise sehr experimentell. Im Club zielt der Inchspektor mit seiner Musik dagegen nur auf die Beine, was regelmäßig zu zuckenden, groovenden und tanzenden Körpern in Clubs wie dem Echochamber, dem Hafenklang, der Astrastube oder oder oder führt. Erwarten darf man Breakbeats, BigBeats von unten (also kein Voll- in-die-Fresse-Style à la Fatboy Slim) und sicher auch etwas Drum-n-Bass. Und unterstützt wird der Inchspektor natürlich vom Vinylizer. Das ganze findet natürlich im Echochamber statt und der Eintritt beträgt bis 0:30 Uhr nur 4 Euro, 6 Euro danach.
Di, 22.04.2003    22-00 Uhr	BTTB-X-Series: AGF Als DJ Dick im Mai vergangenen Jahres in Hamburg war, hatte er eine Ausgabe des WIRE Magazins dabei. Ein Artikel bezog sich auf eine Berliner Künstlerin die sich AGF nennt und als Sängerin von Laub bekannt ist. Sie hatte gerade ihr erstes Solo-Album "Head Slash Bauch" fertiggestellt, das auf Kit Clayton's Orthlorng Musork Label aus San Francisco erscheinen sollte. Leider dauerte es noch ein paar Monate, bevor ich das Album endlich hören konnte - die Beschreibung der Musik war aber spannend genug: "agf has extended the coceit into an album recording herself reading lines of code and then deconstructing them into sluice of broken syllables and bursts of breath" war da zu lesen, oder im New Yorker "Other Music"-Magazin: "AGF has an incredible knack for treading a fine line between emotions, creating one of the most darkly beautiful records you will ever hear. She also has the voice of an angel both whispering and singing throughout her tracks, which are then processed, diced and cut to a stuttering perfection. This is one record that upon repeated listens unveils layer upon layer of magnificent new sounds waiting to be discovered, and quite unlike anything you have heard before." AGF ist übrigens die Abkürzung für Antye Greie-Fuchs und wie bereits erwähnt ist sie die Sängerin von Laub aus Berlin. Neben ihrem Album hat sie auch ein wunderbares Stück zu Craig Armstrong's aktuellem Album "As If To Nothing" beigesteuert. Und nun macht sie sogar eine X-Session für BTTB - das dürfte etwas ganz besonderes werden!
