Demnächst sollen Dubstep-Versionen kommen, jetzt kam aber erstmal was neues remixt von den Serial Killaz, die immer gut klingen. Nicht nur für Congo Natty, sondern auch für Ninja Tune. Zu dem Sommerhit des Jahres gibt es ebenfalls einen passenden Remix - und dann gibt es auch noch neues von Dub Phizix. Do, 13.09.2012    21-22 Uhr	BTTB - Back To The Basics Ganz anders als seine Kollegen klingt der gerade mal 18-jährige David Davis aka Young Smoke, der am 24. September sein erstes Album auf Planet Mu veröffentlicht. Er stammt aus Chicago, seine Musik nennt man Footwork oder Juke, aber wie gesagt: Klingt ganz anders als was man sonst so aus Chicago hört. Europatauglicher. Und das passt zu weiterer Slowfast-Musik aus dem Hause Cosmic Bridge: EAN, eine Hälfte von Various Production hat super Tunes auf einer eigenen sowie einer frei erhältlichen Label-Compilation veröffentlicht. Von Om Unit gibt es auch Neues, dazu gibt es im ersten Teil Eprom vs. Machinedrum, Traxman vs. Lenkemz und Fatima Al Qadiri vs. DJ Rashad. Im zweiten Teil gibt es ein paar ältere Dubstep-Tunes. Grund ist einerseits eine Labelcompilation, auf der Bleep 50 "Stone Cold Classics" aus der Labelgeschichte von Tempa für gerade mal 17€ versammelt hat. Zum einen geht es um den Klassiker Moments In Love, der ursprünglich von The Art Of Noise stammt und der es als Sample oder als Kopie in unzählige Songs aus allen möglichen Genres geschafft hat. Und zum anderen geht es um das Album Paul's Boutique, das hier am 12. Mai auch schon behandelt wurde. Do, 27.09.2012    21-22 Uhr	BTTB - Back To The Basics: 20 Jahre BTTB 20 Jahre BTTB. Am 23. September 1992 lief die erste Ausgabe. Seitdem hat es 1593 Sendungen gegeben, in denen 31.620 Stücke liefen. Und zum Geburtstag wollte Marcus Maack einfach mal die für ihn persönlich wichtigsten Songs zusammenstellen. Er ist gescheitert. Das Vorhaben musste auch scheitern. Wie soll man 31.620 Songs auf ca. 20-30 reduzieren? 20 Jahre auf eine Stunde? Das geht nicht, und das spricht eigentlich nur für die Musik in diesen 20 Jahren. Es ist einfach zuviel passiert. Angefangen hat bei BTTB alles mit HipHop, Acid Jazz und House. Die Jungle Brothers, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth, Ice-T, Public Enemy, Pressure Drop, Galliano, Young Disciples, Izit, Brand New Heavies, das Label Acid Jazz, aus dem später Talkin’ Loud wurde. Masters At Work, Strictly Rhythm, Nervous Records. DJ Pierre mit seinen Wild Pitch Mixes, Green Velvet, Cajmere. So klang BTTB damals. @Ninja Tune@ war auch schon da, genau wie das Label XL Recordings, das schon 1992 gigantische Musik von SL2 und Liquid veröffentlichte. Aus der in England Jungle wurde: UK Apachi, Shy FX, Top Cat, Leviticus, Goldie. In Deutschland eher Techno – The Age Of Love, L’Esperanza, Rejuvination, Fresh Fruits, Superstition Records. In Birmingham die oRiginal Rockers aka Rockers Hi-Fi mit ihren Dub-House-Bastarden wie „Push Push“ und „Stoned“. In LA machten derweil Dr. Dre und Snoop Doggy Dogg G-Funk und retteten mir meinen ersten „richtigen“ DJ-Abend bei einer HipHop-Party im Sky auf dem Spielbudenplatz. Zeitgleich TripHop – die ersten Tunes von DJ Shadow und Portishead machten mich sprachlos. Prince Paul mit seinen Gravediggaz und vor allem der RZA und sein Wu-Tang Clan revolutionierten den HipHop. Trotz der grandiosen Rapper musste man diese Musik einfach auch instrumental spielen – doper ging’s kaum. Bis DJ Wally aus New York kam und nächtliche Autofahrten bei Schneefall unvergesslich machte. Mein erster Besuch in London an dem Wochenende an dem Lady Di in Paris starb. Mir war wichtig, Clubs zu sehen: Die Metalheadz Nacht im Blue Note am Hoxton Square beispielsweise. Oder der That’s How It Is Club von James Lavelle und Gilles Peterson in der Bar Rhumba. Und nie zuvor hatte ich die Möglichkeit, englische Piratensender zu hören. Solid Steel! Ein Besuch bei Pressure Drop im Blood Brothers Control Tower, damals noch in London. DJ Food, DJ Krush, DJ DSL, Mr. Scruff, Money Mark. Aber dann auch Armand van Helden, Aphrodite und Fatboy Slim, deren Songs alle gleich klangen, anfangs aber bahnbrechend waren und alle umgehauen haben. Congo Natty – Junglist und Fever, DJ Zinc, Reprazent, Plug. Ihr seht schon, das waren gerade mal die ersten 5 Jahre. Das faszinierende an Musik ist, dass immer dann, wenn man das Gefühl hat, alles so ähnlich schonmal gehört zu haben, irgendwer um die Ecke kommt und was Neues macht, das einfach unbeschreiblich ist. Das ging mir in den letzten 25 Jahren (natürlich auch schon vor BTTB!) so. Und das hört hoffentlich nie auf. Übrigens wird das Jubiläum auch amtlich gefeiert. Am Fr, den 19. Oktober im Goldenen Salon (über dem Hafenklang) in Hamburg. Mit dabei sind zwei meiner Heroen: Pressure Drop aus Brighton. Außerdem DJ Deneh und Inchspektor Drop-Out. Ihr seid alle eingeladen – es gibt garantiert nur Klassiker aus den letzten 20 Jahren und mehr.
